In the midst of his 21st season in his career, it’s truly astonishing to witness LeBron James, at the age of 39, being selected to the NBA All-Star team for the 20th consecutive year.

On the morning of January 26, according to the Vietnam time, the NBA officially announced the first 10 All-Star players of the 2023-24 season. These are the names that will take the court in the starting lineup at the NBA All-Star Game on February 19.

In the Eastern Conference, the 5 NBA All-Star players include Giannis Antetokounmpo (Milwaukee Bucks), Tyrese Haliburton (Indiana Pacers), Joel Embiid (Philadelphia 76ers), Jayson Tatum (Boston Celtics), and Damian Lillard.

The Western Conference is represented by Kevin Durant (Phoenix Suns), Nikola Jokic (Denver Nuggets), Luka Doncic (Dallas Mavericks), Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (OKC Thunder), and the player with the most votes, LeBron James (Los Angeles Lakers).

This marks the 20th consecutive year that LeBron James has been selected as an NBA All-Star. This number surpasses the legendary Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, making the Los Angeles Lakers superstar the player with the most All-Star appearances in the history of the league.

Now in his 21st season of his career, LeBron James continues to defy age and maintain an incredibly impressive performance. The Lakers star is averaging 24.8 points along with 7.2 rebounds and 7.4 assists per game, serving as the indispensable leader of the purple and gold team.

Just over a year ago, James broke what seemed like an unbreakable scoring record held by Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. Now, the “king” further demonstrates his dominance in the NBA by shattering yet another challenging record of the league.

Alongside LeBron James, who holds the NBA record with 20 All-Star appearances, the remaining players are led by Kevin Durant with 14 All-Star selections.

Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard each have 8 selections, Embiid has 7, and Jokic has 6. The duo of Luka Doncic and Jayson Tatum each have 5 selections.

Here is the English translation:

Unlike some recent All-Star editions, the traditional playing format with the East versus West model will return in the 73rd NBA All-Star Game in history. With the highest votes in both conferences, Giannis Antetokounmpo will be the captain of the East, while LeBron James will lead the West.

After determining the first 10 NBA All-Star players in the 2023-24 season, the rosters for both teams will be completed with the announcement of the reserve players, expected on February 2 (Vietnam time). Three days later, the coaching staff of both teams will be revealed.

The NBA All-Star Game 2024, part of the NBA All-Star Weekend events, will take place on the morning of February 19 in Indianapolis.
