Giannis Antetokounmpo and LeBron James are the starting lineup for the 2024 NBA All-Star Game

Starting next month in Indianapolis, LeBron James and Giannis Antetokounmpo will lead their respective conferences in the 2024 NBA All-Star Game.

In the Western Conference, James is joined by center Nikola Jokic of the Denver Nuggets (sixth All-Star selection), forward Kevin Durant of the Phoenix Suns (fourth), guard Luka Doncic of the Dallas Mavericks (fifth), and guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander of the Oklahoma City Thunder (second).

James breaks a tie with fellow Los Angeles Lakers star Kareem Abdul-Jabbar for the most All-Star selections in NBA history with his 20th career selection.

Antetokounmpo (eighth), Joel Embiid of the Philadelphia 76ers (seventh), Jayson Tatum of the Boston Celtics (fifth), Damian Lillard of the Milwaukee Bucks (eighth), and Tyrese Haliburton of the Indiana Pacers (second), who will get to play on his home court, round out the Eastern Conference starting lineup.

James dominated the West in votes cast for the All-Star game, and Antetokounmpo received the most votes overall. The two players lead their conferences in the same year for the fourth time in All-Star history.

This time, they won’t be selecting teams; instead, they’ll be playing with stars from their own conference. After introducing captains in 2018, the NBA returned to an East-West All-Star Game format in 2019.

Player ballots contribute for 25% of the vote, media ballots for 25%, and fan ballots for 50% of the vote for All-Star starters. The starting lineups for each conference are determined by tallying the weighted votes of the two guards and three frontcourt players.

On Thursday, February 1, the NBA head coaches’ selections for the All-Star reserves will be made public.

On Sunday, February 18, at 8 p.m. ET, Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis will serve as the site of the 2024 NBA All-Star Game.
